Most of the preparations classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are not suitable for use during the first and third trimesters. The second trimester of pregnancy is the safest period for taking NSAIDs, but the benefits of their use must outweigh the potential adverse effects. For this reason, experts also recommend not taking topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications, which include substances such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, ketoprofen, or naproxen. This is due to the fact that no studies have yet been conducted on pregnant women and the possible effects of such preparations. However, it is suspected that despite their local effect, the drugs may enter the bloodstream and have a potentially harmful effect on the development of the fetus.<\/p>\n
The drug of choice for all types of pain during pregnancy is paracetamol. Since it has no effect on the developing fetus, it can be used throughout pregnancy. The single dose of paracetamol is 1 gram and can be repeated every six hours.
